HEAD OF LIGHTING & SOUND

The Rose Theatre is the largest producing theatre in the area, with a busy season of productions and co-productions supported by a programme of visiting shows, events and hires.

The space is very open with 825 seats and a wide 'lozenge' shaped stage. The grid extends over the stage and auditorium at some 9m high with seating on 3 levels FoH. There is a workshop onsite with basic making facilities for stage and maintenance areas for LX and sound. The lighting rig consists of 30 MAC Encore Performance profiles with generic fixtures alongside.

The Head of Lighting and Sound is responsible for the delivery of all lighting and AV elements of work presented at The Rose, from original productions in rehearsals and performance, through events, hires and visiting shows. The role involves working closely with the Head of Production, Production Manager, creative teams, production and technical staff and producers to ensure the highest standards are met within the budget for a given project. As such, they will be expected to direct and supervise the work carried out by the full time and casual Technicians.

PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

The Rose Theatre is the largest producing theatre in the area, with a busy season of productions and co-productions supported by a programme of visiting shows, events and hires.

The Production Technician will be expected to use their skill and experience to carry out work to the highest standards and to understand the technical aims of a production, event or hire. In addition to maintenance, show prep and duties, they will be responsible for planning and running events and hires. They should be able to move between stage, lighting, and sound depending on the needs of the production.
