Emma  D'Souza

Emma D'Souza is currently Head of Marketing and Communications at the Society of London and UK Theatre, the leading membership organisation of the theatre industry. She is responsible for supporting members, raising the profile of theatre, championing audiences and inspiring young people to come to the theatre and consider a career in theatre particularly in off stage roles.

In her current role Emma set up Kids Week in the West End, which enables kids to go free to the theatre. This audience development initiative has grown from a week-long promotion selling 10,000 tickets to a month-long festival selling more than 220,000 tickets. Emma has worked with Westminster City Council on West End LIVE since its inception 13 years ago and to sits on the advisory board of TheatreCraft, which is a careers event for young people looking to get into the industry. Prior to working for the Society of London Theatre, Emma worked in casting and exhibitions.

Emma was on the board of the ATG Foundation and is on the founding committee for Women in Theatre Press and Marketing. She won a London Hero Award for her work on Kids Week and for raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital where her son was a patient and is a recent recipient of a Tonic Award for my audience development initiatives.
