We are delighted to announce the cast for Friedrich Schiller's romantic drama Don Carlos, a Rose Theatre co-production with Exeter Northcott and Nuffield Southampton Theatres in association with Ara.
Gadi Roll directs Tom Burke (Rodrigo, Marquis of Posa), Alexandra Dowling (Eboli), Darrell D’Silva (Philip), Kelly Gough (Elizabeth), Jason Morell (Domingo), Vinta Morgan (Alba), Samuel Valentine (Don Carlos), Stephen Ventura (Lerma) Flip Webster (Duchess), with Alexander Allin, Dan Ball, Guy Dennys and Euan Shanahan completing the company’s ensemble.
Written just two years before the French Revolution, Don Carlos is a magnificent tale of passion and power set against the chilling backdrop of the bloody and ruthless Spanish Inquisition. A double-edge story of loyalty, love and the abuses of power and statesmanship, the tale of Don Carlos is as resonant today as ever – a thrilling drama not to be missed!
