After a sell-out run at the Rose in 2017, our acclaimed two-part production of Elena Ferrante’s My Brilliant Friend adapted by April De Angelis is being reworked for the Olivier stage at the National Theatre by director and Rose Associate Artist, Melly Still (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, The Lovely Bones).
The Rose production with the National Theatre will run in the Olivier theatre from 12 November 2019 to 18 January 2020, and Rose Associate Artist Niamh Cusack and Catherine McCormack will reprise their roles as Lenu and Lila respectively.
So far this year, we have been delighted to see numerous Rose Theatre Productions tour the UK and transfer to other acclaimed theatres. From family shows to historic romances, we are proud to have been involved in the production of so many varied shows which see continuing success.
We recently announced that our latest co-production, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End from 4 July to 31 August. This is following a critically acclaimed run at the Rose and a hugely successful UK tour.
Following a run in February and March, the Rose co-production of the timeless comedy, Stones in his Pockets, continues on its highly successful tour of the UK. Currently running in Cardiff, Stones in his Pockets will continue on to a number of other locations, including Nottingham, Oxford and Brighton.
Finally, this February, we brought Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s Zog to life. This captivating family show has since been taken across the country and will continue to tour at numerous venues until the end of August.
Creating vibrant, engaging productions is at the heart of what we do at the Rose. As such, we are thrilled at the fantastic success our of productions and co-productions so far this year.
