ROSE YOUTH THEATRE TO PERFORM AT VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM

Tue 20 Mar

The Rose Youth Theatre will collaborate with the Victoria and Albert Museum for the third year in a row on a new piece of theatre inspired by artefacts in the museum on Sun 25 Mar 2.30pm. Rosie Jones directs Rose Youth Theatre members in a script written by Josh Mathieson.

Director Rosie Jones said: ‘This year, we have subjects ranging from Communist Russia, to Qing dynasty China, to a magic box in which Miley Cyrus appears. None of us know which stories we will end up telling, but the journey to get there is an extremely exciting one!’

Adrian Deakes, Programme Manager Theatre and Performance (Schools) for the Victoria and Albert Museum said: ‘The V&A are delighted to be hosting Rose Youth Theatre for the third time. Since working together to celebrate the archive of legendary director Peter Brook, the group have also taken their inspiration for performance from the Museum’s temporary exhibitions. This year they turn their attention to the permanent galleries. We can’t wait to see their responses.

The Rose Youth Theatre and V&A theatre piece will be performed in the Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre in the Victoria and Albert Museum Sun 25 Mar 2.30pm. Tickets are limited and can be reserved for free via Sarah Kingsford, Learning and Participation Officer at Rose Theatre Kingston, [email protected].
