Following the appeal by the Rose to the leaders of the Liberal Democrat administration, the Liberal Democrat group has indicated that it will continue to provide financial support to the theatre. This was confirmed in a press release issued by the group on 20 June 2019 [see here].
The Rose welcomes this development. The Rose will approach discussions positively, in the expectation that a truly effective partnership should benefit citizens across the borough at the same time as securing the future of the theatre.
We believe that civic obligation to and for the community includes culture, with the Rose as Kingston's cultural hub.
