The Wars of the Roses Opens

Fri 18 Sep

The Wars of the Roses, our autumn Shakespearean epic opened last night with the first performance of Henry VI. Director Trevor Nunn and the wonderful cast have been rehearsing this epic trilogy for nine weeks solid, and we can't wait for you all to see the final results.

The production's stars have been getting us geared up for the opening, with Rufus Hound describing the production as "House of Cards meets Game of Thrones!" and Joely Richardson calling it "a once in a lifetime experience".

The project, which adapts four of Shakespeare's plays, has not been staged since its groundbreaking debut in 1963 when it was hailed as "One of the mightiest stage projects of our time".
