(L)able is a theatrical sharing of the Young Company’s explorations into the effect and power of labels, stereotypes and preconceptions. This piece considers how words can empower, identify, limit and separate; how societal norms manifest themselves in our judgements of others and whether we can, should or want to transcend our labels.
Chickenshed have been making pioneering, beautiful and inclusive theatre for over 40 years.
This diverse cast of young artists and performers represents a 250-strong Youth Theatre back at Chickenshed. The Young Company works inclusively to ensure that all young people - no matter where they come from and how they identify with society - have a place and purpose within our work and the world.
