Sally Cookson is an Associate Artist at Bristol Old Vic, and has collaborated with Travelling Light for ten years.
For the Rose, Sally directed Hetty Feather, which toured the UK and transferred into the West End where it was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Family and Entertainment Show.
Directing work includes: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe, at the Bridge Theatre and Leeds Playhouse, produced by Elliot Harper; A Monster Calls at the Old Vic and on tour; Jane Eyre, first for Bristol Old Vic, then as co-production between Bristol Old Vic and the National Theatre, on tour and at the NT.
Other productions include: La Strada, Bearhunt, Peter Pan, Treasure Island, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, Strange Case, The Visit, Pains of Youth, Pericles, Papa Please Get the Moon for Me, Clown, 101 Dalmations, Cinderella : A Fairytale, Ali Baba, The Ugly Duckling, Strictly Balti, Boing, How Cold My Toes, Bob the Man on the Moon, Lenny, Home, Shadowplay, Cloudland, Varmints, Romeo and Juliet, School for Scandal, Daisy Pulls It Off, Spring Awakening and Lark Rise to Candleford.
Sally received further Olivier nominations for her productions of Cinderella: A Fairytale, Peter Pan and A Monster Calls.
