About Us

World Class Theatre on Your Doorstep

Founded in 2008 following decades of campaigning and planning by dedicated members of Kingston and surrounding communities, Rose Theatre has become a vital landmark on the cultural landscape of southwest London. Our upcoming season reflects all aspects of our mission. We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to welcoming you very soon.

Entertain Audiences

A great night out. That’s our promise to you, your family and friends — we have something for everyone.

We take the familiar and make it feel fiercely fresh. You’ll see stories and performers you know and love on our world class stage, often in new and exciting ways. Rose Original productions are the beating heart of an artistic programme created for adult and family audiences alike. We complement these shows with the best touring theatre, comedy, and music acts.

Elevate Artists

We invite the best artists to unleash their creativity at the Rose.

We seek out directors, writers, designers, and actors who share our vision to produce great theatre, encouraging artists to make bold decisions and take creative risks. Alongside established theatre makers, we advocate for emerging talent and shine a spotlight on a new generation of theatre makers. Equality, diversity and inclusion are essential to all our work — we believe diversity is a moral imperative and proactively invite new voices to be part of our story.

Empower Communities

Theatre unlocks our superpowers.

We are a beacon for inspiring imagination among those who live in Kingston and beyond. We are passionate about providing opportunities for people of all ages to explore their creativity and develop new skills  – from communal creative activities in our cafe to the work we do with Kingston University and local charities. The Rose Youth Theatre provides year-round skills classes, summer schools, and frequent opportunities to perform on our stage  for more than 1,200 young people every year. We are committed to access for all — participation is never dependent on the ability to pay.
