Christian trained as an actor at the Drama Centre London and soon after had his professional debut in winner Danny Boyle's feature film Millions. He later moved back to his native Norway where his first film was Academy Award nominee Joachim Trier's Reprise. 

Christian has a long history of theatre work spanning the last 20 years, notable performances including playing Karl Ove in the critically acclaimed stage adaptation of My Struggle by Karl Ove Knausgård and The Lower Depths at the Norwegian National Theatre. He has also performed in productions at Den Nationale Scene, Riksteatret, and Oslo Nye Teater.

His film credits include a lead role in What Happened to Monday for Netflix, 42 film Collide, and Allied for Paramount. As well as playing leads in feature films Amundsen and Max Manus, directed by Academy Award nominated Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning, Amnesia, The Trip (Netflix) and The Lørenskog Disappearance (Netflix).  He starred in award-winning TV series Nobel, and Ron Howard's Genius and can currently be seen in the latest series of Succession, for HBO. He is most recently playing the serial killer in the new Sky Original drama Then You Run.
