Dave Jones ‘Affinity’
Dave Jones 'Affinity’ with bassist Dave Jones leading this super creative line up featuring some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians including John Turville - piano, Stefanos Tsourelis - guitar and Demi Garcia Sabat - drums/percussion.
This performance explores Dave's’ arrangements of classic jazz and Latin tunes plus original music from both Dave and Stefanous. Expect an expressive, dynamic, and creative performance of jazz steeped in the European tradition with colourful mediterranean elements of Greece and Spain infused.

Dave's bass playing in recent years has included his own group Dave Jones Nonet, Hejira - a Tribute to Joni Mitchell, Ronnie Scott’s Soul and Jazz Orchestra, Pete Cater Big Band, Way Out West Jazz Collective, and more. He has played with some of the finest jazz musicians in the UK such as Pete Long, Jacqui Dankworth, and with visiting American artists such as Howard Levy. He is active in jazz education teaching regularly at Richmond Jazz School, International Summer Schools, and Kingston University.
John Turville on piano is one of the leading pianists and educators on the UK scene, receiving numerous awards and playing internationally with artists such as Tim Garland’s Lighthouse Trio, Acoustic Triangle, Gilad Atzmon and The London Tango Orchestra.
Stefanos Tsourelis was born in Larisa Greece is equally adept on guitar and oud across a huge range of styles and genres. He has recorded two CDs of original music featuring Dave on bass and his creative approach to composition an improvisation has gathered much appreciation.
This lunchtime session also features special guest Demi Garcia Sabat on percussion, originally from Barcelona he is now London based and plays with artists such as Alec Dankworth, Nicolas Meier, Jose Almarcha, Nikki Yeoh's Café Oran, etc and he has toured all over UK, Europe, North Africa, and USA.
Collectively this wonderful group of musicians represent some of the finest and most versatile musicians on the scene.
