William is a gifted writer, and he knows it. But his father doesn’t seem to care.

Truth, lies, belief, doubt, imagination and reality all collide in a tale which asks — how far would you go to get what you want? Would you pretend to be someone you’re not? Would you become a forger?

The Forger is based on the true story of an ordinary boy who became one of the most extraordinary hoaxers in literary history.

An original play written for the Rose Youth Theatre, The Forger has provided our young cast with exciting opportunities to explore and develop skills in physical theatre, devising and ensemble.

Students have had the exciting opportunity to improvise and ad-lib throughout the term. As a result, the script in the final performance will differ in parts to the original as written. Similarly, due to a range of cast sizes, some characters and lines may change between different performances.
