ROSE PLAYERS
Cost: £250. Classes: Monday evenings 7pm-9.30pm.
Rose Players is our introductory acting group open for anyone aged over 18. We welcome actors of all ages and experience to take part in classes that focus on professional-process and technique.
Perhaps you’ve never acted before, or perhaps you are returning to it. All you need is enthusiasm and to be able to commit to the classes over the course of the term. We explore major practitioners, methods of working on different styles of text, improvisation and vocal techniques that are applicable to many different areas of life.
The course is run by Anthony Hoskyns, who originally trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Anthony’s acting work includes plays at the BAC, Nuffield Southampton and the RSC’s Swan Theatre, along with television shows for BBC1 and ITV2, and radio performances for BBC Radio 4 and Take the Shot productions. He started working for the Rose's Learning and Participation department in 2014, and along with leading the Players course, has directed over 30 young company productions. Anthony has an MFA in Theatre Directing from Birkbeck College London, and was the Lyric Hammersmith’s Resident Assistant Director, working on Rachel O’Riordan’s inaugural season. His directing work includes productions at The Cockpit, Paines Plough’s Roundabout and the Rose Studio.
Whether you are thinking about professional training or you're an enthusiastic amateur, this is a great way to spend your Monday evenings.
